What are the hours for the Shepherdsville Police Department?
The front desk reception is available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Fridays from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Closed Saturday and Sunday. The Shepherdsville Police Department provides police services to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
How can I obtain a background check?
Effective October 19, 2022, the Shepherdsville Police Department no longer provides background checks. Police Departments do not individually maintain, for example, an arrest record because the information is found in the court system.

How can I obtain my property that has been collected as evidence?
Varies. Defendants, suspects, and victims are handled differently. This may require a court order or final disposition of a case.
How can I provide a tip or report a crime anonymously?
Anonymous tips may be submitted by calling the SPD Anonymous Tip Line at 502-215-1588. More information can be found here. KYANA Crime Stoppers will also forward information. Just call 502-582-CLUE (2583).
How can I thank an officer?

Where can I check for an outstanding warrant?
You may contact the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office at (502) 955-7804.
Will you do a welfare check?
Yes. For welfare checks please call the Bullitt County E-911 Center at (502) 543-7074.
How can I get a restraining order?
Restraining orders are issued by the court. For more information, contact the Bullitt County Attorney’s Office at 502-543-1505.
Who do I call to find out the status of a case currently under investigation by the Shepherdsville Police Department?

Where can I obtain information about persons in custody?

How do I request a copy of a crime, incident, or traffic report?
Reports may be obtained by visiting the front desk of the Shepherdsville Police Department, located in the Shepherdsville Government Center, or by mailing in the request, including a self-addressed stamped envelope. There is a $5.00 charge for all accident reports, a $2.00 charge for incident reports, and pictures are $1.00 per page or $5.00 per CD. Please also see the Report Request Guidelines.
Can I make a phone report request?
It is our department’s policy to contact all victims of crime personally. If you are not available at the time of the incident, a police officer will contact you at a later date at your convenience.
